As part of its operations, Obaasima Movement Ghana, a women, and youth-focused non-governmental organization will on Saturday the 31st of August hold an entrepreneurship and skill training for women and the youth to help empower them with the knowledge and ability to be independent financially.

Speaking to the president of the movement Serwaa Akoto, she emphasized that the training is opened to all who want to be trained in Liquid soap, antiseptic and shower gel making can be part of the training which will take place at the premises of Kasapa FM at Nima junction off the Ring road, Accra.

According to her, Obaasima Movement Ghana (OMG) wishes to replicate the training in other regions after this to enable women and youth around Ghana to be self-employed in order to help bring down the unemployment rate in the country.

Obaasima Movement Ghana on Mothers’ Day this year donated assorted items ranging from toiletries, detergents to tin foods to mothers and their new babies at the Accra Regional hospital and Adabraka Polyclinic.

Serwaa Akoto says according to the Trading Economics global macro models and analysis expectations, Ghana’s unemployment is projected to trend around 2.20 percent in the long-term in 2020 and OMG is working through its training as this is to help beat down the unemployment menace especially among women and the youth in Ghana.

She is calling on government agencies, corporate organization and individuals to help in the fight against unemployment and poverty among women and the youth and empower them financially.
