Following the successful launch of True Music Africa, Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky presents, True Music Accra on the 5th of October 2019, at Carbon Nightclub.

The epic glow in the dark party fueled by the sounds of True African Music will feature live performances from Ghanaian artists and DJs including Kwesi Arthur, King Promise, DJ Vyrusky, iPhone DJ and DJ Mic Smith.

Meet the Artists

Kwesi Arthur

Kwesi Arthur is a rap sensation hailing from Tema. Whilst having a challenging childhood, Kwesi Arthur’s rap career had its stepping stone after listening to Drake’s “Thank Me Later”.

In 2017, he caught listeners ears after dropping “Grind Day Remix” featuring Sarkodie and Medikal produced by Kayso. He has been rising fast ever since and was nominated at the 2018 BET Awards for Best New International Act.

King Promise

“KING PROMISE”. His artistic name is derived from his actual name ‘Gregory Promise Bortey Newman”.

In 2016 he released his much anticipated single  ‘Thank God’ which featured Fuse ODG and produced by Killbeatz . The budding talent considers himself as a versatile artist, who falls in the Afrobeats, HighLife, R&B and Hip-Hop genres. He is gradually building a brand allowing him to have longevity in this industry, in turn, certifying Ghanaians to be conversant with his style of music.

DJ Vyrusky 

Kofi Amoako popularly known as DJ Vyrusky, is an award-winning DJ from Ghana.  He is currently with Starr FM and is the official DJ of Shatta Wale. He was the Commercial Media Manager at EchoHouse, before becoming a full-time DJ on Starr Drive in 2014.

Having established himself as a force to reckon with when it comes to talk of town events, DJ Vyrusky has performed on platforms like Ghana Meets Naija, Tidal Rave, Ghana DJs Awards, Red Room at VGMA, the Switch Concerts from Accra to Kwahu to Kumasi, S-Concert, After the Storm Concert and many more.

iPhone DJ

Otoo Mensah popularly known as the iPhone DJ is currently the most popular sought after DJ in Ghana, skillfully bringing crowds to life with the use of his iPhone. He was crowned best campus DJ of the year and is the resident DJ at Bloombar and has played several top shows in Ghana including Tidal Rave, Mr Eazi’s Detty Rave and more.

DJ Mic Smith

DJ Mic Smith also known as ” The Shutdown King ” is undoubtedly one of the foremost and highly talented DJs in the republic of Ghana at present. With 6 years of this skill under his belt, He has been able to establish himself as a true professional with sheer talent that can blow any crowd away.

He is the resident DJ at one of the most recognised clubs in Accra, Rockstone’s Office known to many as Django. Over the years he was the main focus entertainment at the club and his talent on the decks quickly earned him the nickname ‘The Shutdown King’ exposing him to many opportunities including national and international gigs.
