The Northern Regional Executives of the NDC in consultation with the National Executive Committee (NEC) postponed the vetting of parliamentary aspirants because Thursday was declared a national holiday by the Interior ministry for the celebration of Eidl-Adha.

The NDC Northern Regional Treasurer and director of elections, Iddrisu Abdul Rashid Tanko has however cautioned all aspirants not to go to the vetting grounds with their supporters.

His caution seem to have been defied by those who appeared before the committee today as hundreds of party supporters clad in the t-shirts of their preferred candidates besieged the grounds.

The party’s General Secretary Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia is heading the vetting process in the Upper East and Northern regions. Alhaji Hudu Yahaya will be in charge of Upper West and Brong Ahafo regions while Samuel Ofosu Ampofo heads Central and West Regions. The national organizer, Kofi Adams will head Ashanti and Eastern regions. All the committees will regroup in Accra and get divided into two to handle Accra and Volta regions.
