Over 50 houses have reportedly been flooded at Asuboni Rails, a suburb of Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipality of Eastern Region following heavy rains on Friday night.
Items destroyed were mattresses, electrical appliances such as TV, radio, computer, several bags of rice and maize.
The downpour has left several residents stranded leaving them with no decent place to lay their heads.
Reports say many houses at Abrodiem, Atta Ne atta, Ataaso all in the Kwahu West Municipality have been flooded.
The Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Daffuor and the Municipal Chief Executive and other agencies such the national fire service, police service are collaborating to assist the distressed people.
In the meantime, the church of Pentecost building at Asuboni rails has been made a temporary shelter for displaced persons.
