Shatta Wale[Left] and Sarkodie

Self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has stated categorically that he will not congratulate his award-winning colleague musician, Sakodie for winning an award at the just ended BET Hip-hop Awards.

Lots of Ghanaians including celebrities, fellow musicians, friends, family and fans of the prolific rapper took to social media to congratulate Sarkodie who’s also the VGMA ‘Artiste of the Decade’ after he was announced as the winner of the Best International Flow at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards.

It was the expectation of many that Shatta Wale, who’s Sarkodie’s old friend will also congratulate the latter as he did when he[Shatta Wale] got featured on Beyonce’s ‘Lion King’ album.

Ghanaian rapper, Guru born Maradona Yeboah Adjei has thrown a subtle jab at Shatta Wale for refusing to congratulate Sarkodie after he picked the award wondering why he (Shatta Wale) should hate on a brother.

But Ghanaians should not expect any congratulatory message from Shatta Wale to Sarkodie as the former has said such a move will be over his dead body.

Speaking to host Paul Adom Otchere on “Good Evening Ghana” show, Shatta Wale said he finds it absolutely unnecessary to congratulate Sarkodie over the feat he’s chalked.

“…Errm I don’t see it as important…I don’t dislike him. He is a very good guy that I was really close to some time ago but I think he has a wishy-washy brain. He thinks to be in the industry you have to live a certain kind of life, but that is not my life. I don’t believe in potraying lie-life to somebody. For instance you came to my house and I’m in my shorts, I know your programme is large and people pay attention to it. I could say that the President might watch this programme so let me wear a suit. No, the President knows who Shatta Wale is so I can’t potray a lie-life to anybody. And those are the lives they live in the industry that I feel like no don’t live any lie-life for the next generation to copy and feel that this is the life. There’s a life that we need to tow because you’re not going to be Sarkodie forever.”
