He has acted in several Ghanaian and Nigerian movies like Passion of the soul, Desperate Measurer, Brave Soul and many others.
He is one of the finest Ghanaian actors who played numerous lead roles in movies both in Ghana and in Nigeria.
Ekow Smith Asante has won several awards which include Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in Ghana at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Most Promising Actor in Ghana at the City People Entertainment Awards, Best Actor of the year at the Best of Nollywood Awards and Most Prominent Actor in Ghana at the Ghana Entertainment Awards.
