The Symphonials, a talented choir of mainly students and alumni of Valley View University as well as other tertiary institutions held 3rd edition of its biannual musical concert – Grazioso on 23rd November 2019.
This year’s edition of Grazioso was themed “Voyage of Hope”. The event which took place at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium Hall featured great compositions from both local and foreign composers. The musical concert featured a different genre of music such as classical, anthems and choral.
Patrons were treated with good music with the program segmented into three sessions.
Each session had its own theme:
First session – Our Praise to God
Second session – Drawing Closer to God
Third session – Affirmation of Faith
The group also sang Unclouded Day in the audience which caught the attention of many.
In all, Grazioso 2019 was massively attended by lovers of choral music.
ABOUT THE SYMPHONIALS
The Symphonials are a talented choir of mainly students and alumni of Valley View University as well as other tertiary institutions, which is dedicated to the mission of winning souls for Christ and edifying the Christian community through song ministration.
The reputable choir is registered with the Registrar General’s Office of Ghana and the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
The idea of this great ministry was conceived and organized in November 2005 by Edmund Bobie Ansah with the help of friends namely: Enoch Mintah Amoah, Emmanuel Ayi and Enoch Ayi – all students at Valley View University at the time. It began with seven (7) members namely: Edmund Bobie Ansah, Enoch Mintah Amoah, Emmanuel Ayi, Enoch Ayi, Portia Opoku Boadi, Florence Asiedu, and Kofi Gyasi.
The choir has recorded more than 800 performances and concerts in and across the country. These include performances at national functions, corporate organizations, church programs, weddings, graduations among others.
The Symphonials organizes annual and biannual programs to its credit. Notable among them is GRAZIOSO (an award-winning program), Celebration of Hymns among others.
With over fifty (50) dedicated choristers currently, the choir has increased in numerical and vocal strength and is currently one of the best choirs in Ghana. Amongst renowned musicians in the country and diaspora, the Choir has over the years worked with George Mensah Essilfie, Ps. Dr. Kwabena Donkor, James VarrickArmaah, Newlove Annan, Stephen Ntiamoah, Adu Boateng Kwasi among others.
