The Senior Presbyter of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Taifa Branch, Mrs Dora A. Owusu has entreated caretakers and children of aged parents to show them more care as well as love.
According to her, caring for ageing parents should be a top priority for children and caregivers.
Expressing her view on ‘Onyini Berem Asetena‘ show on Light Television hosted by Diana Tsinasi on the topic reaching out to the aged, the Senior Presbyter listed the benefits involved in reaching out to the aged.
Mrs Owusu remarked that old people go through emotional stress so youngsters should make it a priority to make them feel loved at all times.
“Children should respect their elders in order to live long – Ephesians 6 vs 1,” Mrs Owusu said
She advised children to stop the persecution of elderly women suspected to be witches and rather show them love and care.
Advising parents, Mrs Owusu said, “Parents should put a stop to speaking ill and comparing their children to other children. Don’t let your children feel useless or unworthy.”
