As part of efforts to strengthen democracy, good governance and ensuring peace before, during and after the 2020 elections, the National Commission for Civic Education NCCE has inaugurated a 10 member (IPDC) to provide effective strategies to achieve free, fair and peaceful elections.
The 10 member committee is made up of representatives from the clergy, peace council, political parties, media and the police.
The purpose of the committee which will provide an effective platform for key stakeholders to engage with political parties will also serve as a unifying body that will promote peace and resolve conflicts in the general elections in order to enhance political, economic and social progress and stability.
The chairman of the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee IPDC Rev Emmanuel Antwi called on all Ghanaians to make peace a priority in the 2020 elections.
