Exclusive Events Ghana Limited (EEGL), organisers of Miss Ghana pageant have officially launched the 2020 edition of the beauty contest at Tang Palace Hotel in Accra on January 29, 2020.

The Miss Ghana Foundation, a registered charity arm of the Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant over the years, past Miss Ghana queens have taken up different social projects that help transform and positively impact lives of the most vulnerable or less privileged in society.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of Exclusive Events Ghana Limited (EEGL), Inna Mariam Patty noted that the 63rd edition of Miss Ghana is focused on achieving its utmost goal of scouting for young women who are passionate about the Miss Ghana brand and are prepared to raise the flag of Ghana with purpose and pride in Ghana and the world at large.

“Growing up, there was a lot of noise on vision 2020. We are in 2020 and we hope our efforts at Exclusive Events Ghana Limited (EEGL)/ Miss Ghana Foundation (MGF) will continue to contribute to the objects/ goals for Vision 2020 whilst we aim ahead.

“At EEGL, we are inspired by 2020. It is a unique year in which we hope to achieve our most important goal of finding young women who are really passionate about what the Miss Ghana brand symbolizes. Patriotic young ladies who are ready to carry the Ghana flag with purpose and pride both at home, abroad and for the rest of their lives.” She said at the launch

Patty disclosed that though the search for a new Beauty Queen looks simple it has been a daunting task for the committee.

“I must confess that this task may sound simple but believe me, it has been a daunting one.

“I know there are beautiful, cultured, intelligent and disciplined young ladies out there. Do please join the Miss Ghana wagon; so together, we can fulfil our shared interest.”

Organisers of the prestigious beauty pageant as part of activities lined up for the Miss Ghana 2020 event will engage all stakeholders through the introduction of the Miss Ghana voting app.

“This year, the voting concept continues with a slight modification. Voting shall constitute 40% of the qualifying criteria to selecting the eventual sixteen (16) contestants and final winner of Miss Ghana 2020 Competition. Voting ends at 22:00 pm on the night of the grand finale.

“Kindly note there shall be only one audition in the Greater Accra Region on 29th February 2020 here at this beautiful and welcoming Tang Place Hotel. Miss Ghana 2020 grand finale shall be held by the end of April 2020.” Inna Patty indicated

She noted that “Our partnership with the dynamic and selfless Made in Ghana Ambassador popularly known as Okyeame Kwame, National Dance Ensemble and the National Theatre was indeed refreshing in 2019. A strategic partnership we are highly grateful for. We are confident that the relationship this year will be even more exciting. We are happy to formally announce that beginning this year; Miss Ghana grand finale events will be held at the National Theatre, the right home, where it has always belonged.”

Launching the Miss Ghana 2020, Nii Adjetey-Abokobi Mantse, urged Ghanaians to support the Miss Ghana brand since it is a national pride and heritage contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.

“Miss Ghana beauty pageant is our national pride and heritage and as such, every Ghanaian must rally behind. Miss Ghana pageant doesn’t only help and groom our ladies but it contributes to our socio-economic development.

“It is an honour to all of us present here to be part of this year’s 63rd Miss Ghana 2020.” 

Guests present at the launch include a representative from Ministry for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Traditional Rulers; Nii Adjetey-Abokobi Mantse, NiiNarku Teinor III, Osu S3ist3, Nii NorteyAbooso Osu Kusum-st3, Nii Ayee Bonsu Kojo Ashuu, Koto I Sariki Yaaki Kasin, Greater Accra, Made in Ghana Brand Ambassador – Okyeame Kwame, Nana Adwoa Awindor, Akuma Mama Zimbi, Moesha Bundong, Past Queens and Sponsors.

The launch was emceed by Edem Smith.

Under the Miss Ghana Foundation, the Miss Ghana pageant has, over the years, carved an impressive niche as that pageant generates awareness on various socio-economic problems, collaborates with government institutions and corporate firms in sending relief to various deserving communities across the country.
