An accident has occurred at Gomoa Antade, claiming the lives five with several others reported injured.

The five, according to reports, died on the spot when a Toyota mini-bus with registration number GX 3045 – 18 collided with a DAF articulated truck.

The accident occurred around 8:30am.

The remains of the dead have been deposited at the St. Luke Hospital, Apam, with the injured also receiving treatment at same facility.

The Administrator of the St. Luke Holy Family Hospital, Apam, Rev. Father Francis Oteng Dumfeh, confirmed the incident to kasapafmonline.com.

He said there was no good ambulance to respond to the emergency situation and had to rely on the rickety ambulance of the hospital as well as private vehicles to convey the injured and the dead to the hospital.

According to Rev. Father Dumfeh, if the hospital had a very good ambulance, they would have, perhaps, saved some lives.

The National Road Safety Authority Emergency Post also located at Apam had no ambulance to respond to emergency situations.
