Kofi Boakye Yiadom, known by the stage name Kofi B, was a Ghanaian Highlife artiste.
He was known for songs such as “Mmbrowa”, “Bantama Kofi Boakye”, “Koforidua Flowers”, Twa me Keke, ‘Sika Dwa’, Akua Ataa, among others.
Kofi B attended Agogo Secondary School in the Ashanti Region but dropped out prematurely due to financial difficulties.
He lost his father at the tender age of 5. Coming from a poor family, the legend took to hawking on the streets at a very young age.
The Highlife musician took inspirations from Kojo Antwi, Amakye Dede and the late Opambour.
Kofi B and Ofori Amponsah teamed up and released an album together which became an instant hit.
The Highlife singer died on February 2, 2020, after battling illness over a year.
Reports indicate that Kofi B was on his way back after performing with Kofi Nti at a show on Saturday night.
He was said to have been rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pains but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
