Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Eugene Boakye Antwi says the government’s Affordable Housing Projects lost its “affordability” element when the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) took over the project years back.

According to the Deputy Minister, the project although under the remit of the Works and Housing Ministry, it’s unable to determine pricing as the projects were ceded to SSNIT by the John Mahama administration who injected capital into the projects to complete it.

“The issue of Affordability is one of relativity because it doesn’t belong to government anymore. It belongs to SSNIT. So SSNIT are the ones to determine these prices.” the deputy Minister told GHONE TV on Thursday.
