Organizers of 3Music Awards hosted some key leading names in the Ghanaian art and entertainment space on March 8, 2020, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel for the maiden 3Music Women’s Brunch.

The event which coincided with the International Women’s Day saw key female personalities honoured for their immense and outstanding contributions to the creative space in Ghana.

Madam Theresa Ayoade, Hon. Dzifa Gomashie, Grace Omaboe, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, Akosua Agyapong, Mrs Tiwa of Yaw Sarpong and Asomafo fame were among some astute women honoured at the first edition of 3Music Women’s Brunch.

Leading discussions for the first session, Theresa Ayoade (Charterhouse), Naa Ashorkor (Joy FM), musician Becca, Biliki Giwah, a Communications Studies Lecturer and Aba Quagraine, a Lawyer, spoke about pertinent issues including confronting the thorny issue of sexual exploitation in the space.

3Music Women’s Brunch, a significant for many reasons as it seeks to consolidate the sustained efforts made over the years in the push for female empowerment within the space and beyond.

International Women’s Day among other things highlighted the gains and losses made by women in the space, while bringing to the fore, the opportunities that exist.

Under the leadership of Whitney Boakye-Mensah, Managing Partner, with support from the women on the 3Music Awards board, the 3Music Women’s Brunch is a social impact initiative designed to make a case for female empowerment and inclusion in the entertainment industry.
