The Ghana Tourism Authority(GTA)has closed down all beaches until further notice.
A Press Statement by the GTA warned that the National Security and the Police will begin patrols of the beaches from Tuesday March, 24, 2020 to ensure compliance of the closure order.
“The general public and tourist business operators are urged to be mindful of the precautionary measures announced by the President of the Republic to fight the covid-19 pandemic” the statement urged.
Ghana’s confirmed cases of the coronavirus has jumped to 24 with one death.
There has been the closure of the country’s borders, including ports- land sea and air- effective midnight on Sunday as part of measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the country will observe a national Day of fasting and prayers on Wednesday, March, 25, as part of the nation’s spiritual warfare against covid-19.
