The Eastern region has recorded its first case of the deadly coronavirus as Ghana’s case count has risen to 195.

Greater Accra is leading with total number of case count of 174 out of the 195 confirmed cases.

Addressing a Press conference in the capital, Health minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu said further arrangements have been made to enhance the country’s testing capacity.

“We’ve also started testing in Korle Bu…. So the tests will now become a bit larger and the results will now come a bit earlier ” he revealed.

The leading test centre in the country, the Noguchi Memorial Institute has so far conducted 4225 tests while the Kumasi Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) has undertaken 335 tests, Dr Badu Sarkodie, the Director in charge of Disease Surveillance and control at the GHS told the media Wednesday.

Ghana is treating its coronavirus cases with hydroxychloroquine, Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu has said.
