AKSA Energy, a Turkish owned power company in Ghana has donated two million, five hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (2,500,000.00) to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund, set up by government as part of efforts to assist the needy and vulnerable in society who are likely to be most affected by the coronavirus mitigation protocols of the State.
At a brief ceremony at the Jubilee House to present their contribution, the Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs. Ozlem Gulun Ulueren, assisted by an official of AKSA Energy, Murat Capzub, told the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare, that they are deeply concerned about the worldwide spread of the novel Coronavirus, Covid-19. Their contribution, Ambassador Ulueren, said is to shore up all the several decisive efforts of government so far in the country proactive fight against Covid-19.
K. Ofori Limited
K. Ofori Limited, a building material company represented by Dunkwa Jabpotin, the chief accountant of the company and Benjamin Adjei, the Operations Manager, also presented a cheque of one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (100,000.00) to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund.
Goil
Kwame Osei Prempeh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goil Ghana, in the company of Alex Josiah Adzew, also presented their cheque of two hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (200,000.00) to the Chief of Staff as their token to the Covid-19 fund.
Bui Power
The Bui Power Authority through its Chief Executive Officer, Fred Oware, also presented a Cheque of five hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (500,000.00) to the fund. Mr. Oware, in a brief remark assured the Chief of Staff that the Power Authority will continue to support Government’s efforts inspite of the instant contribution.
Silver Star Auto
Silver Star Auto, dealers in Peugeot vehicles, led by Asad Naziy Nouhad Kalnoni, presented a Peugeot Pick Up track to the fund to aid the movements of the Ghana Covid-19 response team.
Reroy Group
Reroy Group Limited, an electrical cable and accessories company through its Public Relations officer, Anthony Mensah, also presented a cheque of one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis to fund. Mr. Mensah, indicated that the management of Reroy is fully persuaded that the country will win the struggle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Chief of Staff
Chief of Staff Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare, thanked all the donors on behalf of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. She assured them that the State will certainly write to express her appreciation and that the funds will be put to proper and judicious use for the benefit of the needy and vulnerable in the country.
