Ghanaian highlife legend, Rex Omar hit the roof when a critic asked if he is a musician.
The ‘Daadadidada’ hitmaker who was displeased about the question, replied the critic that he is a carpenter.

This comes after the GHAMRO Chairman made a comment on Kenya President’s statement directing the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage to avail Ksh100m [GHc5million] from the Sports Fund to artists, actors and Musicians during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic so they can continue to entertain followers through radio, television and internet.
Rex Omar in his statement suggested to the Government to also emulate the same directive.
His statement was met with disdain as Ameyaw Justice, a critic hit hard at the Highlife artiste saying Rex Omar is seen as a politician than a musician.
“You’re a politician now! Since from day 1 you joined NDC I wept for you, because of Jewel Ackah, how NDC dealt with that great musician before he passed on.”
Responding to the critic, Omar stated that his comment to the Government to emulate the same directive from Kenya’s President was made on behalf of the voiceless in his area of endeavour.

According to the ‘Abiba’ hit singer, it is his responsibility as the leader of the Ghana Music Rights Organization [GHAMRO] to address issues relating to Ghanaian artistes in the country.
“Am I not the leader of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (Ghamro)?” Rex answered
