The National Inspectorate Board(NIB) of the Ministry of Education has requested all private schools to engage with the Parent Teachers Associations(PTAs) to address concerns over whether parents are supposed to pay the school fees of the wards in full while they receive online tuition.

According to the NIB, it has received complaints from parents regarding the implementation of alternative methods of teaching and learning mainly online by private schools during the COVID-19 period.

A statement signed the Executive Secretary of NIB, Dr. Haggar Hilda Ampadu said “Private schools are to note that establishing and having an active PTA is a requirement for certification as a school by the NIB and thus it is important to engage PTAs to secure their support in delivering quality education to learners. Schools without PTAs will not receive a certificate of registration by NIB or their existing certifications will not be renewed.”
