The King of the Ashanti Kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has launched investigations into the operations of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.

The King who is the owner and Life Patron of the ‘Fabulous’ club, has in the process, set up a three-member committee to continue the investigations and report back to him with their findings.

The Committee is to be chaired by Prof. Lydia Nkansah, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The other members are Mr. Kofi Owusu, Registrar – Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs and Lawrence Bruce Kyei, Esq., a private legal practitioner.

A statement released by Manhyia Palace, seat of the Ashanti Kingdom, dated April 29, 2020, and signed by the Chief of Staff, Kofi Badu, gives the Prof. Lydia Nkansah-led committee four (4) weeks to submit their report.

The Kumasi-based club has in recent times come under sever criticisms from a cross section of its supporters with some alleging that the club is being mismanaged.

Others are also not enthused with the sale and transfer of players from the club to another and vice versa.
