The Sekyedumase Traditional Council in the Ashanti Region has handed over Personal protective equipment (PPE) for COVID- 19 prevention and general hospital equipment to the Sekyedumase Polyclinic.

The items were donated by two indigenes Mr Douglass Mensah, the Director of Unity Group, and Dr. Owusu Dapaah who reside in America.

The items worth Ghc100,000 which included: Special COVID-19 kits -10pcs,  N95 face mask -100pcs, hand gloves – 600 pieces, goggles -50pcs, hand sanitizers -400pcs, Kitchen Nappins – 100pcs, Veronica Bucket – 35pcs, and 20 bottles of soap.

The rest of the items are: Hematology analyzer, Chemistry analyzer, Phototherapy, Hospital beds and mattresses Pediatrics and Adult and Drip stands.

The presentation was done on behalf of Nana Antwi Boasiako the Chief of Sekyedumase by Nana Gyapa, the Kontihene of Sekyedumase and Nana Yeboah Asiamah, the Gyaasehene of Sekyedumase

The Gyaasehene speaking during the presentation urged the Polyclinic administration to take good care of the items and put them to good use to encourage the donors to give more.

He appealed to staff of the Polyclinic to have time for the aged when they come to the facility and give them the quality healthcare they deserve.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Health Directorate, the District Disease Control Officer, Mr Amankwah expressed gratitude to the donors and urged other philanthropists to emulate the good deeds of the donors.

He assured that the items will be put to the purposes for which they were donated.

Mr Amankwa further urged hospital staff to have a culture of maintenance to ensure that the items last long.
