The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) has announced that the church will remain closed despite the relaxation of restrictions on churches by President Akufo-Addo.

In a communique, ICGC urged all its pastors to continue reaching out to congregants through on-air and online platforms while the church uses the month of June to monitor and evaluate how it will fully resume church service.

“We are mindful of the need for our congregation to gather and worship freely and openly. However, the current situation demands that we also consider the health and safety of all congregants.” the church said

More churches are opting to remain closed despite the easing of the restriction on religious activities.

Founder and General Overseer of the church Dr Michael Black Nyamekye has also announced that the church will remain closed despite the relaxation of restrictions on churches by President Akufo-Addo.

He cited overhead cost, pressure on equipment among others for his decision.

“I deem it fit to announce to you that The Makers House Chapel International will remain closed for some time until we have clarity and sanctions relaxed some more. I will entreat all of you to bear the church and it’s membership in prayer, hopefully this gets over soon so we can meet and hug again,” he stated.
