Nominees for the 2020 NET Honours, an annual People’s Choice Awards have been announced.
Among the tall list of nominees are Sarkodie, Juliet Ibrahim, Angelique Kidjo, Nasty C and Diamond Platnumz who battle it out in the biggest category, Most Popular African Celebrity.
Other nominees range from major players in the entertainment industry like Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Teni, Davido, Funke Akindele, etc. to non-entertainers like Muhammadu Buhari, Enoch Adeboye, and so many more.
Themed ‘Celebrating the People’s Choice and Power Class of 2020’, the fourth edition of the NET Honours will hold on Saturday, June 13, 2020.
For the first time ever, the NET Honours will be virtually hosted on the Netng’s digital platforms, instead of being presented at the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive) as we have usually done.
NET Honours recognizes the people and moments that have shaped the year in review by studying the engagement and search trends of over eight million users who engage with Netng and affiliated platforms – 234Star, Neusroom, and Orin.
Honourees have traditionally received their awards at the annual NECLive event, which is also organised by ID Africa. However, with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the corresponding restriction on large gatherings, NET Honours will be presented in an entirely virtual ‘event’ this year.
NET Honours ‘Class of 2020’ will feature 20 categories such as Most Popular Actor/Actress, Most Popular Musician, Most Searched Media Personality, Most Popular Foreign Celebrity, and others.
