The European Union (EU) is ready to partner Ghana in the implementation of an industrial symbiosis and environmental management project.
This will seek to grow small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) across three selected regions – Greater Accra, Ashanti and Western.
The project, will be powered through the EU Africa Green Initiative Programme, and aims at enhancing the sustainability of the SMEs by encouraging the recycling of by-products of other companies.
Implementation of the project will also provide the platform to enhance the status of local businesses to international standards per the incorporation of integrated waste management techniques in their processes.
Official launch of the three-year project will take off in Kumasi, next week, a statement issued and signed by Mr. Fosu Yeboah, the Ashanti Regional Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said.
