The ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Eastern Regional Secretary Mr. Jeff Konadu Addo has pleaded with the Kwahu Traditional Council to immediately call some leaders of the main opposition NDC to order for defying their orders after invoking a curse on Kwahu Land.
The executives of the NDC in the Eastern Region including the party’s Regional Communications Officer Dallas Williams, Sidi Bello Deputy Regional Youth Organizer, Daniel Aboagye a former youth organizer and few others were seen by a river called Trado in Nkawkaw invoking a curse on persons alleged to have been imported in the region by the NPP to register in the ongoing voters registration exercise.
Commenting on the matter on Nkawkaw-based Agoo FM, Jeff Konadu Addo denied the NPP is busing people saying “I don’t understand the NDC with this postulation. This is NPP’s stronghold; Nkawkaw, Abetifi and Mpraeso. When elections are held our margins are quite large so why would we want to bus people from one constituency to another, to achieve what? So I really don’t understand them but I want to say this and send a strong plea to the chiefs and people of Kwahuman that we cannot accept these things and as a matter of urgency they should summon these people to Kwahu Hene Daasebre’s palace and let them answer the reasons why they have to invoke this curses in politics.
“Why do we do this… in any case Nananom have sent a strong warning that nobody should engage in curses on Okwahu land in any way or form so they disrespected Kwahuman, they defied the orders of Kwahuman.
I want to really plead with Nananom to immediately summon these people to come and answer for their evil deeds that they are trying to do. I believe they are just doing that to scare people from registering but please I urge everybody, it is your right to go out there and register irrespective of all these irresponsible behavior.’’ Jeff stated in an interview with Agoo FM.
He continued that, the national executives of the party should punish these people adding that: “If the NDC people in Kwahu do not respect the directive of Kwahuman why should they be sitting here? They will not be able to go to Kwahu Chiefs and have any meaningful discussion with them because they have not shown them any respect.”
