Companies willing to support various sport disciplines must be given the free hand to undertake such endeavour, lest they withdraw from sponsoring our national teams, President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation, Ben Nunoo Mensah has said.
He’s argued most companies shy from sponsoring sporting teams in the country, as a result of what he described as the fear of being probed after such deals.
“There is a top company in Ghana who for the past years supported sports massively but has declined to support our team for fear of being cross-examined by commission of enquiry.”
According to him, the trend is putting a strain in the Sports Associations’ efforts to get more sponsorship deals.
