Two Black Stars players have been named in the list of nominees for the 2015 edition of the CAF African Footballer of the Year Award.

A list released by the Confederation of African Football Sunday named Dede Ayew and Christian Atsu as two of 37 foreign-based players competing to make a possible trimmed down list.

Some 24 others are also competing for the African Footballer of the Year – based in Africa award. No local Ghanaian player made the cut.

Suggestions that Ghana should make the final list isn’t out of place. While Atsu had a brilliant African Cup of Nations this year, Dede continues to be a star attraction in the English Premier League, leading some important wins for his club Swansea.

The winner takes over from Yaya Toure, who made this year’s list as well.
