A native of Enyan Obontser who also doubles as the Sanahen of Enyan Denkyira Traditional Area in the Central Region, Osaade3ye Ayeboafo Etuaful has donated foodstuffs, hand sanitizers, tissue papers to the schools in his community.
He believes the items will enable the students to write their Basic Education Certificate Examination without going hungry.
The food items donated included bags of rice, oil, tins of Milo, tomatoes paste, drinks and cans of milk.
According to the Sanahen, the School Children travel far distance to their examination centre which is located in a different community and has compelled them to sleep there until they finish writing their exams Friday before they go back home.
“Due to this I am assisting their Parents and the Teachers to get food for them in order for them to write their Exams without starving.
“As a Chief and a native of their community, I am advising them to do their best and write their Exams and come out with flying colors. They should stay away from Examination malpractices and depend solely on what they have learnt. I urge them to do their best to pass all their papers to gain admission into the second cycle”
I am encouraging all the Female Candidates who are writing the exams with pregnancies to not to be ashamed, but courageous and write the exams. After giving birth they should continue their Education.
Receiving the items the Headteacher of Enyan Obontser D/A Basic School Samuel Koomson thanked the Chief for such donation.
“Me being a Headteacher for the Enyan Obontser Basic School for eight years have never witnessed such donation before, this is the first time I am experiencing this”
“I will use the opportunity to advised the Candidates to take their lesson serious to come out with flying colors. They shouldn’t think of what they will eat before and after their Exams because Sanahen has provided them with enough food that will take care of them throughout their Basic Education Certificate Examination throughout the week”
