Creative Arts Business Consultant, Benjamin Oduro Arhin Jnr aka Bnoskka has asked Charterhouse if their VGMA is for hype.

According to him, Charterhouse has adopted to use their award scheme to promote their business.

I have observed in the years the pattern that charterhouse seems to have adopted to use Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) to hype themselves and also give people broken hearts. My observation bothers on two particular categories: artist of the year and the most popular song of the year.
Bro Eddie Ray I will give references if you give me time. There was a time Reggae Dancehall was part but now it’s been either Artist of the year or most popular song of the year. Then sometimes they one controversial industry title awards to also create confusion.

Bro Eddie, do you remember Patience Nyarko Song “Obinyane Me” one corner by Patapaa and then last Kuami Eugene Highlife King award and Amakye Dede being forced to crown him?

Just after VGMA awards, Dan Lartey is broken-hearted to extend he has shaved all his beard and hair.

VGMA awards get lots of radio and tv discussion from pundits who are not satisfied by the awards. Is that Charter House enjoys these controversies as hype or they mean to break people’s hearts.

I have heard other people cry on the radio and tv because of VGMA why should this be? Kofi Kinaata also still holds unto it on the radio in Kumasi that he knows the artist of the year award is for him why? Kofi Kinaata is heartbroken.

Please permit me to ask charterhouse to come and explain all these negative feedback that trends after every VGMA.
