President Akufo-Addo has filed his nomination at the Electoral Commission in Accra to contest the 2020 election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The move clears him officially to contest in the election.

Akufo-Addo is seeking a second term in office after he won the 2016 polls. He was accompanied by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The President in a tweet said: “We have fulfilled our promises and delivered on the mandate you gave us. Give us 4 more years to do more for you.

“Vote Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP to transform Ghana for all. #4MoreForNana #4MoreToDoMoreForYou.”

The main opposition NDC Flagbearer, ex- President John Mahama is expected to file his nomination on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
