The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) has condemned some pockets of disturbances witnessed in the run-up to the December polls and charged the IGP to bring perpetrators to book.
“The Coalition again calls on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to take swift action against all perpetrators of such violent conduct,” CODEO said in its second pre-election observation.
A statement signed by its National Coordinator, Albert Arhin and sighted by Kasapafmonline.com thus noted intensified preparatory activities by the Electoral Commission ahead of the elections.
Among its key observation made in October, ahead of the general elections are marginal increase in civic and voter education activities and intensified campaign activities.
CODEO further entreated CSOs and all stakeholders, including faith-based organizations, to intensify their election support activities particularly in support of peace promotion in respect of the elections.
