Award-winning broadcast journalist, Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman says winning Local Newscaster of the year award at just ended Radio and Television Personality Awards is a dream come true.
According to Daakyehene, he has worked very hard to deserve the RTP Local Newscaster of the year.
“I am the Head of News at Power Fm and a Newscaster too but do you know that I sometimes go out to report as well so tell me, how many of my competitors did same in the calendar year” he explained.
Daakyehene speaking in an interview said ‘You won’t believe I have traveled to about 13 Regions to file report on disinfection and fumigation during this Covid-19 era whilst my colleagues were at the studios waiting for reporters to feed them’ Daakyehene added.
He explained further that “Do you know I did a pathetic story at Savelugu in the Northern Region and the Municipality was blessed with PPE after I interviewed and filed a story for the DCE, Hajia Aishetu. I filed another one at Karaga and Navrongo that also yielded results and the good part was also that I returned to Accra to continue to read the news as well.
“Besides the hard work in the year under review I voted too, can you imagine my Church I attend Excellence Sanctuary of Victory Bible Church raised funds for me to vote, I think I really worked harder for this Award” he added.
Daakyehene was nominated in the Local Newscaster of the year award last year but lost to Akosua Agoo Aboagye of Peace Fm.
