The police have triggered a manhunt operation for persons who shot occupants of a silver-colored KIA private salon car with registration number GW 2375-20 and in the process, injuring two people.
The victims in that dastardly act have been identified as an NDC agent and a journalist who was covering the ongoing Presidential and Parliamentary polls.
In a tweet moments after the incident which occurred in the Awutu Senya East constituency on Monday, December 7, 2020, the Police said “Voting is progressing steadily and peacefully across the country. Two people sustained gunshot wounds at the Church of Christ Polling station at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East constituency in the Central region.
Reports indicate that the perpetrators of the crime were in a Black Toyota Land Cruiser who opened fire on a KIA Salon car that was driving out of the polling station.
According to the Police, the injured were taken to hospital and are responding to treatment, adding that “Police is investigating any allegation of impropriety so far received”.
