The incumbent Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency Hon Abena Durowaa Mensah has lost her seat to the NDC parliamentary candidate Mr. James Joe Quayson.
Out of 32,830 total vote cast, she polled got 14, 799 votes, while James Joe Quayeson-NDC got 17,498 votes with a total rejected ballot of 539.
Hon Abena Durowaah Mensah won the 2016 general elections with 15,553 votes out of the 27,812 valid votes cast= 56.77% beating the then NDC candidate Samuel Ambre with 10,751=39.24%
