The National Democratic Congress Parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains South constituency, Joseph Appiah Boateng has retained the seat for the party with a wider margin as compared to previous years.

He secured 18, 246 to beat the New Patriotic Party(NPP) candidate, Willie Horr who had 9,300 votes.

In the presidential election, the NDC Flagbearer Former President John Dramani Mahama secured 18, 666 while President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo had 7639 votes.

There was tension in the Afram Plains South Constituency as the ruling New Patriotic Party vowed to win the seat for the first time.

Some bigwigs of the NPP including the ER Secretary Jeff Konadu Addo and the Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency, Bryan Acheampong campaigned strongly for Willie Hor urging the electorate to vote for the NPP.
