Fast-rising young act, Kuami Eugene, will obviously be the star attraction as communications giant, MTN, delivers one more of its well-loved Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols show at 7.00pm tonight, Friday, December 18.

This time around, the programme will be a virtual affair to be streamed on MTN’s Facebook and Youtube platforms. This year has been an eventful one with COVID-19 altering how we enjoy live performances. MTN is therefore urging everyone to stay home, keep safe and still have a good time with the stars on this year’s carols programme.

Apart from Kuami Eugene who is the current Artiste of the Year, also billed to perform are MTN Hit-Maker protégés such as Kurl Songx, Lasmid, Freda Rhymz and Adepa. They wield different approaches to performance and the show is expected to bring out how well they can hold audience attention and set them off on the road to an enjoyable Christmas.

The El Dunamis Choir as well as the MTN ViVa Voices, a collection of singers from MTN, will also help put viewers into the Christmas mood.
Acts that have appeared at previous MTN Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols events include Kwaw Kese, Samini, Okyeame Kwame, MzVee , Nacee, Cecilia Marfo, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Patapaa and Feli Nuna.

“Kuami Eugene is my favourite act in Ghana at the moment,” said secretary Ethel Nartey, an ardent follower of the singer. “ I can’t wait for him to deliver some of the carols I love as well as some of his own beautiful tracks like ‘Open Gate’, ‘Show Body’, ‘Obiaato’ and ‘Ohemaa.’

“It is common knowledge how our lives have been affected this year by COVID-19. All the same, we want everyone to climax the year with a bang and look forward to 2021 with greater hope,” said an official from MTN’s Corporate Communications Department.

One doesn’t know what’s in store at this special virtual edition but the assurance is that it would be a thrilling affair worth everyone’s time.
