The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will proceed to Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, to challenge the results of the December 7, 2020, presidential and parliamentary elections results.

Per the Constitution, December 30 is the final day of the mandated 21-days given for an aggrieved party in an election to file a petition in court against the process.

The NDC’s intention was made known by a member of its legal team, Rockson Nelson Defeamekpor in an interview on Joy News ‘Newsfile’ show on Saturday monitored by Kasapafmonline.com.

“We’ll go to court. We’ve made that clear. Certainly, by Wednesday, all these matters would be placed before the court.”

“…If the EC will be willing to comply with the law that will end the matter. It is not about declaring in our favour that’s not what we are saying. We are saying that comply with the law, if you comply with the law and we emerge victorious that’s fine. But if you don’t comply with the law and announce another candidate as the victor, no,” he added.
