The Western Regional Council of State election is set to go for a re-run later this morning after a tie on Friday.

None of the two contenders secured the needed majority votes in last Friday’s polls.

Both candidates, Eunice Buah, and Nana Akomea garnered 14 votes each out of the 28 total votes cast, thus necessitated the run-off billed for today, Western Regional Electoral Commission Director, Angelina Tagoe, said on Friday.

Meanwhile, there was no election in the Bono East as a result of an injunction placed on the exercise.

More than 100 candidates from the 16 regions of the country filed to contest the election.
