Research has not yet proven whether COVID-19 jab causes impotence, a Trauma and Orthopaedic Specialist, Dr. Romeo Kwabena Agyapong has said.

“I don’t believe the covid-19 jab can cause infertility issues or impotence,” he said in direct response to a question posed by host Bonohene Baffuor Awuah on Ghana Kasa on Agoo T.V/Kasapa 102.5 Fm Thursday, about whether the vaccine causes male impotence.

He said there is no report directly linked to male impotence after getting the shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine being administered to the population in the country.

“Infact this is a novel vaccine, so those persons making such claims I don’t know where they did their research to find that erectile dysfunction or male impotence was a side effect of the covid-19 vaccines.

“What we know is that some two people rather reported having problems with their sexual function after recovering from the disease, but even that there should be research into it to ascertain whether that was caused by growth or psychological problems they’ve had. Nobody knows it, so it’s still under study,” he clarified.
