Ghana’s Telecommunication giant, MTN-Ghana Foundation has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to 29 hospitals and 15 Senior High Schools (SHSs) across the country in the fight against the Corona-Virus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to MTN Foundation, the move is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to help complement the efforts of the government in fighting the virus.

Some of the items donated to the health facilities and schools included facemask, hand sanitizers, washing basins, thermometer guns, cartons of carbolic soaps, coveralls, gloves, and gallons of 99% Alcohol Methylated Spirit.

Speaking to Kasapfmonline.com after a donation to St. Gregory Catholic Hospital at Gomoa Buduburam in the Central Region Wednesday, the Chief Customer Relations Officer for MTN-Ghana, Temima Kotei Walsha said they are committed to assisting Ghanaians and health facilities in the country in fighting the pandemic.

“We have some PPEs to help prevent the frontline health workers in this hospital from the virus and the entire community who visit the hospital. Patients come to the hospital from Buduburam and its environs so it is to help everyone during these trying times,” she stated.

According to Madam Temima, MTN-Ghana Foundation has so far spent over one million Ghana cedis in procuring the items for the hospitals and schools.

“This is not the end, it’s something that we do to support health facilities and schools across the country,” she added.

The Chaplain for St. Gregory Hospital at Gomoa Buduburam, Rev. Fr. Daniel Ganu who in receiving the items on behalf of the hospital was full of joy and thank MTN-Ghana for their kind gesture.

“We are so grateful to MTN on this occasion to donate all these items to the hospital to help fight the world-wide pandemic, the Corona-Virus,” Fr. Ganu reiterated.
