The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service has requested the Ghana Education Service in the Ashanti Region to let out 53 heads of schools and other staff for investigation over allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Free SHS feeding programme.

The schools being probed include Opoku Ware SHS, Prempeh college, St. Louis, SHS, and Osei Tutu among others.

The Ministry of Education in a letter intercepted addressed to the Ashanti regional director of the GES noted that “Management has received a letter from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, which indicates that they are investigating some issues related to the supply of food items to some of the Senior High Schools in your Region.”
