One miner has been trapped in one of the underground sites of Anglogold Ashanti’s Obuasi mine after it collapsed on Monday, Kasapafmonline.com.
Sources say three of the miners got trapped but two managed to escape leaving one underground. The escapees are said to be in good health
A search party has commenced rescue operations searching through the rubbles since Monday night in the bid to rescue the remaining miner but has not been successful as of Tuesday night.
The search is still underway.
The miners are staff of a contract United Mining Alliance,(UMA) which is a contract company for Aglogold Ashanti.
