Senior Policy Advisor & Head of The Presidential Delivery Unit at Ghana’s presidency Valerie Sawyerr has been accused of bribery ahead of the November 7 National democratic Congress primaries of the Klottey Korle Constituency.

Sawyer, and the Party’s Greater Accra Chairman, Ade Coker, as well as a number of high profile executives of the ruling Party have been fingered in what local faithful say are attempts to buy political power.

Constituency Youth Organizer of the Party Charles Ben is accusing Sawyer and co of sharing funds, and cars as bribes to persons he says are influential and who can decide how the voting pattern should go.

“They are sharing cars and money to people they think have a following, and who can shape the voting pattern on November 7. This is sad. They are doing that to for the incumbent.”

The incumbent Nii Armah Ashittey, who is also the Regional Minister, is contesting against Zanetor Rawlings. daughter of former Head of State Jerry Rawlings.

Ben is also accusing the group of engaging in tribal politics, adding “they are telling people Zanetor is not fit to contest, and that she is not from the Region.”
