Over 2000 school children in the KO Methodist Cluster of Schools will no longer have to depend on one standpipe for potable water; thanks to ABSA Bank’s donation of a ten thousand liter water tank to the schools.

Caught in the middle of the Central Business District of Kumasi, the KO Methodist Cluster of schools comprising the Kindergarten, Primary A, Primary B, Primary C, JHS A and JHS B blocks, used one standpipe connected to a small overhead reservoir.

Through ABSA Bank’s 1-year anniversary Force For Good CSR drive, the students can now have access to multiple taps connected to all six schools in the cluster.

Releasing the facility to the Managers of the Methodist Cluster of Schools, Marketing Manager with ABSA Bank, Benjamin Jumah Aidoo pointed out that the intervention demonstrates the bank’s commitment to making impact in communities where the bank operates.

He explained, “Essentially, it was meant to be part of our 1st anniversary and one of our activities under our force for good agenda which indicates that as a member of a community where you operate, you need to be very responsive to the community’s needs. Under Force For Good, we pick on various issues from communities to support and ABSA has education as one of its core pillars.”.

Headmistress for the Junior High School ‘B’ Jane Enima Ofosu described the intervention as an introduction of new life to the cluster.

“Water is life and if you have life, you have everything. That’s a great bank and we pray that God blesses them to continue supporting the GES, to build good and critical thinkers for the country’s future,” an elated Headmistress noted.

Headmaster of the cluster Theodore Quarshie told Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote – Fumador, the over 70 teachers in the school had advised themselves to open accounts with ABSA to demonstrate their willingness to work with what he called a progressive bank.

“It’s a cluster of schools and we have over seventy teachers so we are advising ourselves. Because of this great thing we can also save there. We promise them we will be their partners,” He exuded.

The Bank further donated Veronica Buckets, Hand Sanitizers, Face Masks, and Soap among others to support COVID 19 Infection Prevention and Control measures.

ABSA Bank continues to push the frontiers of possibilities driving Africanacity and engendering seamless financial inclusion with products tailor-made for the retail, corporate and business segments.

Apart from its personalized banking services, the bank has on stream, a flurry of e-banking platforms offering customers the convenience of clicking and tapping their financial transactions from the comfort of their screens.
