The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Isaac Adongo has cautioned Minister of state-designate at the Finance Ministry, Dr. Charles Adu Boahen to withdraw his company, Black Stars Brokerage as a transaction advisor and a book-runner for government loans.

The deputy ranking member for the finance Committee has disclosed he will mount a crusade for rejection of the nomination of Dr. Adu Boahen should he fail to heed since the move amounts to conflict of interest.

Addressing the media in parliament, Adongo further revealed his intention to petition CHRAJ to investigate not just the Minister of State-designate but also the Finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta whose Data Bank is undertaking a similar exercise.

He added the IMF, World Bank and other international bodies will equally be petitioned.

The Appointments Committee of Parliament is set to commence the vetting of the President’s nominees for Minister of State and Deputy Ministerial positions Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

Dr. Adu Boahen, a Minister of State-designate along with 39 deputy Ministerial nominees appointed under 24 portfolios, will go before the committee beginning this week.

The list contains ten nominees who are women.

The 10-day exercise will end Tuesday, June 15.
