Some Irate National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth of Tuobodom in the Techiman North constituency have started a serious campaign to stop what they say are deliberate attempt of leaders of the party to allow Deputy Education Minister, Alex Kyeremeh to contest unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the constituency.

The group numbering over hundred and occupying at least two buses have traveled down to Accra today, to petition party leaders of the undue advantage given to the Minister regarding the impending contest in the constituency.

Leader of the incensed youth group in the area, Teacher Poku who spoke to Kasapa 102.3 FM on Anopa Kasapa Tuesday said all attempt to get the issue resolved at the constituency level have proved futile, hence their decision to besiege the party headquarters  to show their resentment over the matter.

Poku, also an Executive member of the constituency, observed that there is clear machinations by the party to drop Mr. Kyeremeh’s contender, Kofi Poku in the contest

He’s warned that the issue could have damning consequences on the party if it does not rise to allow fairness to prevail in the contest.

“We the youth of Tuobodom are seriously against the party allowing Mr. Alex Kyeremeh to go unopposed in the primaries- We believe it should be an open contest for those who wish to contest in the primaries, so all of them can be given a level playing field to do so. It should be a clean game.

“When you go to Techiman South, two people are contesting- and that truly shows a democratic process. This is all what we’re fighting for and if the party does not advise itself after today’s protest, we’ll come with our next action;there are many ways of killing a cat.”
