The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has directed the Electricity Company of Ghana to shed a total of 400 megawatts of power  [Monday].

Some technical challenges experienced at the Volta River Authority’s (VRA) power plants in the Western Region and other parts of the country have triggered the new directive.

The shedding covers six regions in the country.

They are: Accra (140MW), Ashanti (80MW), Tema (60MW), Western (40MW), Central (30MW), Eastern (30MW) and Volta (20MW).
