The Paramount Chief of Ekumfi Traditional Area, Odeefuo Akyin has said nobody in the Ekumfi Eyisam community including the Chiefs can cause his removal from the throne.
Angry chiefs and youth in Ekumfi Eyisam last week voiced their displeasure over the poor development situation in their town and accused Odeefuo Akyin of doing nothing to ensure development in the town.
They also accused him of causing many chieftaincy disputes in the area as he’s taken bribes from people and installed them as chiefs. They consequently called for his destoolment.
But reacting to the allegations at a press conference on Wednesday, Odeefuo Akyin vehemently refuted the claims.
He stated that he’s not taken bribes from anybody to enstool him as chief and further urged the public to treat the allegations with the contempt that it deserved.
Odeefuo Akyin noted that there is peace in Ekumfi Traditional Area as far as chieftaincy disputes are concerned, adding that some persons are just bent on tarnishing the image of the Ekumfi District.
He also banned the Ebusuapnayin of Ekumfi Eyisam Anona Royal Family, Yaw Endoo Ababio from all his activities in the Ekumfi Land. He also threatened to ban the Ebusuapnayin of the Ekumfi land making baseless allegations against him.
Odeefuo Akyin noted that all the chiefs in the area have been gazetted hence no chief has been enstooled illegally as some of the Chiefs and the Youth in the Ekumfi Eyisam are claiming.
According to him, it is time for Chiefs to be included in governance to help solve issues of murder and rape.
He also charged the IGP to deploy security men to the Ekumfi District as security in the Ekumfi District is getting poor.
