The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and some members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, toured some crime-prone areas in the Central East Region.

The Central East Region is a newly created Police Administrative region, out of the Central Region.

The entourage stopped by to commiserate with the family of the nine-year-old boy, Micheal Nyarkoh who was incidentally shot during the current Awutu festival.

The team proceeded to Senya-Breku District, where the entourage paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Awutu Traditional Area, Nai Abokuady Wyettey Agyeman Otabil III.

The tour undertaken was to among others, review ground combat operations, interact with the chiefs and people of the region and as well interact with personnel on the ground on the security situation in the area.

The region has over the past few years recorded high cases relating to serious crimes such as robbery, and murder.
