Kwahu Ambassador, a youth Activist has appealed to the various Assembly Members in Kwahu to reject all the five MMDCEs if the government fails to fix Nkawkaw Sports Stadium
The five Assemblies include Kwahu Afram Plains South District, Kwahu Afram Plains North District, Kwahu East District, Kwahu South Municipality and Kwahu West Municipality.
The Municipal/District Chief Executives in charge of the above Assemblies mentioned are Nana Koree, Evans Kyei Ntiri, Isaac Agyapong, Emmanuel Attah Ofori Snr and Yaw Owusu Addo respectively.
Speaking on Agoo FM Tuesday, Some Sports Journalists in the area expressed disappointment over the government’s failure to complete the Sports Stadium, which when completed will create employment, a situation they appealed to the youth in the area to speak out against.
Head of Sports at Agoo FM James Osei Ampofo and Sports Journalist of Life Fm Ernest Kusi Jnr (Osantrofie) wonder why the project is still standstill despite several promises by government.
On his part, Odame Agyare told hostess Obaahemaa Yaa Mirekua the people of Kwahu have been taken for granted for too long by the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Making reference to total votes cast during the 2020 General Election, he said “Kwahu gave the NPP overwhelming votes leading to victory 2020 but it seems the NPP has taken us for granted”.
He added that “the Assembly Members must reject the various MMDCEs in Kwahu. We don’t have any problem with them but this will send a signal to the President. We have different football clubs in all the five Districts but there no field to host sporting activities, unlike other places.”
Responding to issues surrounding the delay of construction, Deputy CEO for Middle Belt Development Authority Lawyer Joyce Opoku Boateng said, the contractor has been engaged adding work will soon commence.
Residents have bemoaned the fact that the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium after sod cutting before the 2020 General Election has not seen any development.
